What do I know?

I made You promises a thousand times.
I tried to hear from heaven, but I talked the whole time.
I think I made You too small. I never feared You at all.
If You touched my face, would I know You?
Looked into my eyes, could I behold You?

What do I know of You who spoke me into motion?
Where have I even stood, but the shore along Your ocean?
Are You fire? Are You fury?
Are you sacred? Are You beautiful?
What do I know? What do I know of Holy?

1 Cor. 1:18-2:16

Its really tough for me to realize that most of my attempts at gaining wisdom (even in the church circles) is still rooted in myself and wanting to be more in control but its really comforting to know even though life can seem a big mess to me that I'm serving a GOD that not only makes sense of it but shapes it to the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose.

all this and my heart still cries "But I just REALLY want to know..."
